Jute is considered as a long, supple, glossy fiber, which can be split into rough, strong threads. There are more than 40 species of jute that are generally available; only two types are produced for commercial purposes.  These  two  types  of species  are  usually  called  as  white  jute  and  Tossa  or conventional  jute. Jute is not associated with health risks and environmental damage.  Jute  is  a  multifaceted,  flexible,  long-lasting, reusable,  low cost,  and  considered  superior  to artificial synthetic fibers. Jute is agro-based, produced yearly, inexhaustible, as well as biodegradable or environmentally-safe. Jute is considered to be the best natural replacement for nylon and polypropylene. Mainly, fiber based, yarn based and fabric based products are produced from jute.
